Let Me Know!

If you hear one of our songs being played from any comp in the past or present, please send me an email and let me know.  This helps me to post on here so the artists can know where they are being played.

Looking for good changes to come in January!

Again, Merry Christmas!
Barbara

Top Five Artist for December

These are the artists who are JMA's top five for December.  We will try to post this by the 15th of each month and stay with it!

1.  Me and My Old King James - Ivan and Jamie
2.  I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey - The Lefevres
3.  Living Oasis - Mark Dubbeld Family
4.  He Loves Me So - Terry Blackwood
5.  Still Water - Something To Shout About

Again, let me remind you that our top 5 each month can come in different ways.  Points for charting, calls from radio play, Heavy, Medium, and Lite Rotation reported to me various radio stations both charting and non charting.

Please call your local Southern Gospel Station and request these songs or others on the JMA comps and have the radio people get in touch we me.  The more I know, the better we are able to help the artists.

Some radio people will not talk to us!  So, we trust the Lord to take care of all of that.  And, He will.

Congratulations to the top 5 for December.

Be Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Gospel Music Today

I am glad to report that Southern Gospel Music is alive and well.  But, I have to say that I am totally in agreement with what I read today in Christian Voice.

We sometimes take our eyes off of the why we are in it and began to want that chart instead of souls.  I am always proud when one of the artists I work with hits the charts.  It is great, but please understand my main goal in all of this is, air play.  Getting the message out and when we understand that, God just may bless you with a little number on the chart!  If not, and some dj in St. Louis is playing your music, be thankful that he is on our mailing list and he is playing your music.

Let's not forget, it is all about God.  It seems that when we start to get spotted, and the lights and glimmer go up around us we forget....this all started as a ministry!!  I am just as good as anyone else!!  Pull back, and listen to God.  That is the only way this thing will work.

I do not like the politics in doing the business.  There is no room for it in our business, nor in the Church.

Let's all trust God and allow Him to do the work through us.

Be Blessed,
Barbara

Today is a God filled Day!T

Today as I write this blog, I want you to know that this is a God filled day.  We are warm even without heat in the office, but we have the warmth of the Lord!

As I work radio this month, I find that for the most part, even artists that were on comps back months ago are still getting played!  Still Water is in the Charts with Christian Voice Magazine and God is allowing our artists to receive air play.

Back in the day.....there was nothing like a promoter.  We just got the albums into the radio stations and they played the music.  Some more than others, but it was different.

I think that there is too much back biting, political, and carnality in the business, as is also in the church or anything else you do.  We should be ashamed!

I believe we should put God first and truly sing our songs, and allow HIM to do the work instead of our ego getting in the way!  Like me or not, I tell the truth..I do make mistakes, but let my remind you, there are two sides to every single story!  I want my business to be on the right side, not the wrong.  That is the way I live my life.  If I cannot have a business that way, I will not have it.  Just at the moment things look like to us that something is wrong, God honors our work and trust in Him.

Again:  Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."  If you desire to sing for him, then be a servant. Look to Him for your place in the ministry, or business He has called you to.
Desire to serve Him and let nothing keep that from happening even if the offering is very low.  God makes it up at the next place.  Do not blame Churches that we call or you call when you go there and do not get the huge offering, hey...after all, you did the calling.  Trust God and enjoy your work!  Like I said, He will make it up if you do it for the right reasons!

When you become bent out of gear on the air play, the offerings, and dates to sing...Guess what, perhaps God can't bless you with an attitude of that sort, but He can and will bless you if you go in God's grace and trust Him.

Enough said!  My sermon for the year.  God is good and He will see that what needs to happen as long as we do not allow man to be the front leader!

Have a God Filled Day!
Barbara

Just a note

Sometimes we meet gospel singers who are real and want to go what is best for their group to help get them established in ministry/or perhaps it is a business.

I believe our goal should be to concentrate on what we sing about and let the Lord open the doors.  The same Lord who opens the doors, also can close them.

It is all about attitude.  A lot of time, we get to thinking we are so good at what we do and we are just as good if not better than artists who have big names.  You know, that may be true....but until you have paid the dues, devoted your heart and soul to what you sing about, it may never happen.

Thanks,
Barbara

Today's News

Checking in!  Ha, it has bee a few days again!  My whole family has been sick with all of the bugs!

Gospel music is going well and I want to let you know that "It Is Done" by Reflection of Grace received a wonderful compliment this week.  Young Jeremiah Collins wrote the song and does an awesome job singing on it along with Jessie and Preston!  If you have a chance to hear these guys, go for it.  They are very good, family harmony at it's best.

Below is a picture taken at NQC of Reflection Of Grace featuring Jessie!  Jessie and Jeremiah are expecting their first child!  Perhaps on my birthday!!  Just kidding!

This group is from Hendersonville, North Carolina and would gladly come to your church for a service in which you will be blessed!!!

Add this group to your church for a concert this year!!
