Let Me Know!

If you hear one of our songs being played from any comp in the past or present, please send me an email and let me know.  This helps me to post on here so the artists can know where they are being played.

Looking for good changes to come in January!

Again, Merry Christmas!
Barbara

Top Five Artist for December

These are the artists who are JMA's top five for December.  We will try to post this by the 15th of each month and stay with it!

1.  Me and My Old King James - Ivan and Jamie
2.  I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey - The Lefevres
3.  Living Oasis - Mark Dubbeld Family
4.  He Loves Me So - Terry Blackwood
5.  Still Water - Something To Shout About

Again, let me remind you that our top 5 each month can come in different ways.  Points for charting, calls from radio play, Heavy, Medium, and Lite Rotation reported to me various radio stations both charting and non charting.

Please call your local Southern Gospel Station and request these songs or others on the JMA comps and have the radio people get in touch we me.  The more I know, the better we are able to help the artists.

Some radio people will not talk to us!  So, we trust the Lord to take care of all of that.  And, He will.

Congratulations to the top 5 for December.

Be Blessed and Merry Christmas.

Gospel Music Today

I am glad to report that Southern Gospel Music is alive and well.  But, I have to say that I am totally in agreement with what I read today in Christian Voice.

We sometimes take our eyes off of the why we are in it and began to want that chart instead of souls.  I am always proud when one of the artists I work with hits the charts.  It is great, but please understand my main goal in all of this is, air play.  Getting the message out and when we understand that, God just may bless you with a little number on the chart!  If not, and some dj in St. Louis is playing your music, be thankful that he is on our mailing list and he is playing your music.

Let's not forget, it is all about God.  It seems that when we start to get spotted, and the lights and glimmer go up around us we forget....this all started as a ministry!!  I am just as good as anyone else!!  Pull back, and listen to God.  That is the only way this thing will work.

I do not like the politics in doing the business.  There is no room for it in our business, nor in the Church.

Let's all trust God and allow Him to do the work through us.

Be Blessed,
Barbara

Today is a God filled Day!T

Today as I write this blog, I want you to know that this is a God filled day.  We are warm even without heat in the office, but we have the warmth of the Lord!

As I work radio this month, I find that for the most part, even artists that were on comps back months ago are still getting played!  Still Water is in the Charts with Christian Voice Magazine and God is allowing our artists to receive air play.

Back in the day.....there was nothing like a promoter.  We just got the albums into the radio stations and they played the music.  Some more than others, but it was different.

I think that there is too much back biting, political, and carnality in the business, as is also in the church or anything else you do.  We should be ashamed!

I believe we should put God first and truly sing our songs, and allow HIM to do the work instead of our ego getting in the way!  Like me or not, I tell the truth..I do make mistakes, but let my remind you, there are two sides to every single story!  I want my business to be on the right side, not the wrong.  That is the way I live my life.  If I cannot have a business that way, I will not have it.  Just at the moment things look like to us that something is wrong, God honors our work and trust in Him.

Again:  Psalm 37:4 "Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."  If you desire to sing for him, then be a servant. Look to Him for your place in the ministry, or business He has called you to.
Desire to serve Him and let nothing keep that from happening even if the offering is very low.  God makes it up at the next place.  Do not blame Churches that we call or you call when you go there and do not get the huge offering, hey...after all, you did the calling.  Trust God and enjoy your work!  Like I said, He will make it up if you do it for the right reasons!

When you become bent out of gear on the air play, the offerings, and dates to sing...Guess what, perhaps God can't bless you with an attitude of that sort, but He can and will bless you if you go in God's grace and trust Him.

Enough said!  My sermon for the year.  God is good and He will see that what needs to happen as long as we do not allow man to be the front leader!

Have a God Filled Day!
Barbara

Just a note

Sometimes we meet gospel singers who are real and want to go what is best for their group to help get them established in ministry/or perhaps it is a business.

I believe our goal should be to concentrate on what we sing about and let the Lord open the doors.  The same Lord who opens the doors, also can close them.

It is all about attitude.  A lot of time, we get to thinking we are so good at what we do and we are just as good if not better than artists who have big names.  You know, that may be true....but until you have paid the dues, devoted your heart and soul to what you sing about, it may never happen.

Thanks,
Barbara

Top Five Artists for November

1.  Terry Blackwood - He Loves Me So
2.  Ivan and Jamie Hodge - Me and My Old King James
3.  Still Water - Something To Shout About
4.  Mark Dubbeld Family - Living Oasis

Today's News

Checking in!  Ha, it has bee a few days again!  My whole family has been sick with all of the bugs!

Gospel music is going well and I want to let you know that "It Is Done" by Reflection of Grace received a wonderful compliment this week.  Young Jeremiah Collins wrote the song and does an awesome job singing on it along with Jessie and Preston!  If you have a chance to hear these guys, go for it.  They are very good, family harmony at it's best.

Below is a picture taken at NQC of Reflection Of Grace featuring Jessie!  Jessie and Jeremiah are expecting their first child!  Perhaps on my birthday!!  Just kidding!

This group is from Hendersonville, North Carolina and would gladly come to your church for a service in which you will be blessed!!!

Add this group to your church for a concert this year!!

Last Week!

Last week..... Saturday night November 13th, we hosted the group "Still Water."  Our church loved the guys and we had fun.

Sorry, Jerry forgot his camera until the fun really started!  But, this is the first singing group or any other guests we have had to our churches through the years, that anyone ever offered to help clean up the dishes!!!

Well you see, Tommy decided to dry the dishes for me.  ( I made soup and sandwiches) I used the church's real dishes.  I hate plastic, etc.  I was washing dishes, Tommy doing the drying!  He handed me a plate and told me that to do it again!  There was something on the outside of the plate!  I handed him the job of washing and I because the dish dryer!

Tommy....You are more picky than I am, but you got that plate clean!

If you get a chance to have this group to your church, go for it.  They have a wonderful spirit and really show true love for the Lord.

UP DATE

Good afternoon friends,
It has been a few days for this daily blog to show up!!  Ha!  Been busy and we are going through some concerns.  My husband had a biopsy and we are going today, to find results.  We are assured that whatever the outcome, we will be fine.

I want to introduce you to the newest group with JMA at this time.  I have formed a group with my daughter Becca, and a young man 14 years old who can evermore sing.  We are very excited about what God has in store for us to do on week ends!  We all agree that we must be in our home church on Sunday!  So, our performances will be on Friday and Saturdays most of the time.

Meet:

                                                                   NEW JUBILEE

BECCA ROACH, BARBARA ROACH, AND NATHAN PARRISH

Becca is the office help around here and is employed at "Trimont Christian School" as a pre/school teacher.
She is 26 years old and has been singing all of her life.  Becca sings in the worship team at our church does many special songs but has always loved to sing harmony!

Nathan Parrish is only 14 years old!  The voice of a 25 year old.  He is awesome.  His is in High School and of course the choir, and everything else around here, but his dream is to sing Southern Gospel Music.
Go Nathan....Let's get this thing rolling.

Of course, MOM...that would be me...I will be doing most of the arranging and whatever else needs to be done.  We are for sure very excited to form this group and are looking forward to great things.

Thoughts and prayers about recording with Day Wind in Nashville.  We will keep you updated on that one.

We start our first concerts in February, of 2011.

Blessings to all of you today.

Gospel Music Today

November 8, 2010
We were thankful for the opportunity to be on Gospel Music Today with Ken Grady at National Quartet Convention.  Ken will be featuring us in an upcoming show.  We were able to share the stories behind two of the songs on the Living Oasis project. "Living Oasis," and The Reward." We are happy with the radio promotion response and encourage you to call your local Southern Gospel station and ask them to play "Living Oasis" on the Jubilee Music Artists Volume Eight Comp, cut number 4.  Check out this link for the clip www.vimeo.com/16450098

JMA REPORT

Has been a wonderful week end.  One of our artists received an award from the GA association and we are proud of them

Unity Four of Iuka, MS received this award  and we are very proud of them.  These guys have a wonderful heart and are very sincere about what they are doing.

Did you realize that God looks in the heart of man!  Not what he says, does, or even thinks!  He is in control and blessings come to those!  Well, Chuck and JC, it is your blessing this week end.  Air play could be better but God has a way of making up for it.  I am proud of you and that folks are playing your first song and it being a re-make...This is great.  Can't wait til the original song comes out and I know you are working hard.

Sometimes in our business, we make honest to goodness mistakes and yes, just like you are reading right now, it is always the other person's fault. I have made my share of those!!  Learning this business has been a blast.  But, one thing about it....as mom used to say....it will all come out in the wash.  LOL

I enjoy talking with and working with The Unity Four!  They are not about themselves but about singing for the Lord.  Give me a whole truck load of artists who are like this and I will be blessed!

Blessings to UNITY FOUR!!

EXCITED RADIO RESPONSES!

As I talk to different artists throughout the month, they will have to tell you that I am always telling them, "Do not focus on charting but on getting air play."  I know it feels good to see your name in the chart section, and I am as thrilled as anyone about that.  But, don't you love the feeling of knowing that you are getting played somewhere?

I started this new thing with asking permission from the DJs I talk to about them sharing info for a blog on JMA. They are all fine with this.  I am having fun with this as well.

This morning, Once again I have been talking to some of my favorite people in Virginia!  Just have to write down their report for you.

Radio Work and Special Events

What we try to do at JMA is radio promotions, special events, and call in bookings.  Sometimes a day can be hectic and frustrating.

Of course I learned a long time ago I cannot please everyone.  But, if I keep my word and honor God, I have done my part.  And, pleasing God is the main thing. Sometimes we make our own plans and reap what comes from that.  Without God being in control, well....the old saying, you reap what you sew...that is so right.
Let's sew good and reap good and leave it all in God's hands.

We are excited about the coming events for JMA!  Remember April 1st and 2nd at Pigeon Forge, TN for an exciting week end of gospel music!  You can be a part.  As I always say, let's have church!

Family Business!

Jerry and I are thrilled to have Becca working in our business.  She is limited, but trying to help me as much as possible.

Becca works a full time job right now teaching 3 year olds in a Christian Pre/School.  She is a great teacher.
Sometimes, she is my eyes and ears for the music because I can't always get around like I need to.  One day, hopefully she can help out more with promotions.

She is helping with media and learning the business.

Thank you for sending in your thoughts and blogs for others to see.  Please invite your friends to be our friends!  Ha.....we need a few!!  We have readers, but we need followers and friends!

We are working on wonderful things that will be happening in the future.

Be Blessed!
"Delight thyself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."  (Psalm 37:4) That is my verse!!  I will share it with you!

Top Five Artists October

Going into November, I would like to report JMA top five artists.

1. Mark Dubbeld Family
2. The Lefevres
3. Terry Blackwood
4. Chris Baldwin
5. Ivan and Jamie

We are going to do this each month.  If you know a station who does not have our comp, please let us know.  We will do our best to get it to them and we appreciate all radio blogs.  They must be sent to barbara@jubileemusicartists.org for approval.

Thanks so much and November is looking great for all of our artists.  Remember, the end of the year we publish the top 20 for 2010.

We appreciate and love all of our artists.  We are getting good play on all of them.  Of course some more than others, but we are well pleased.

Our main focus here is to get air play in all areas.  If we have a song to chart, well praise the Lord.  But, we are truly about getting the artists music in the radio stations for air play....charting and non charting stations.

Blessings,
Barbara Roach

KKGM RADIO

Hi Barbara!
We've encountered some major problems & an unfortunate thing has happened:  KKGM will be officially changing formats from Southern Gospel to an all-talk format beginning Monday November 1.  This greatly saddens all of us but the owner needs to make a profit and so we go with the switch.

I did receive your CD Comp and while we have a limited amount of time, we are going to play all we can .  We are going to blanket the area with new music as much as we can this week.

Please pray for all of us as we go through this transition.
I pray blessings upon you and Jubilee!

JOAN GREGORY

Pictured above is our solo artist winner of the National Radio Release "Joan Gregory" with Barbara and Becca Roach.  After nearly 4 hours of waiting to sing His Praises Joan writes this:

It was with great anticipation that I accepted the invitation to sing in the annual JMA Showcase at the NQC in Louisville on September 14, 2010.  Headed up by JMA President/CEO Barbara Roach. The showcase was conducted with professionalism, yet a down home flavor.  To the audience's delight, there were many gospel music celebrities who either sang or were in attendance, but more so, there was an awesome presence of the Holy Spirit.

I was aware that national radio releases were to be awarded to one soloist and one group, but as I sat awaiting my turn on stage, I began to realize that God was moving in a mighty way.  We were having church!!!

When I took the stage, I started singing from the heart and let the Lord use me as His vessel, forgetting that I was being judged.  I stay amazed at what the Holy Spirit can do as long as I am willing to put myself aside and let Him work through me.

When winners were announced, I was humbled and honored to be chosen as the recipient of the soloist release and am excited for yet another opportunity to spread His Word.  Thanks JMA!

UPDATE

Today I would like to give you an update on some of our radio work.  WFLQ 100 FM is a charting stations for Christian voice.  We are delighted at JMA that we have five songs from our latest comp in his top 30 play list.

#13 The Lefevres "I Wouldn't Take Nothing For My Journey"
#18 Mark Dubbeld Family "Living Oasis"
#21 Terry Blackwood "He Loves Me So"
#27 Ivan and Jamie "Me and My Old King James"
#30 Still Water "Something To shout About

There are many radio charting stations who report in the Christian Voice Magazine, so this does not mean you made the Christian Voice chart.  This is only one station but it is great to know that we have "Randall" who is willing to let us know.  We do invite any and all stations that we send music out to,  to send us your play of our artists!!

Thank you to Randall Hamm for playing our music.  We do appreciate you sending this and allowing us to know!

To all of the calls and emails I have made, We do not have anyone who is not getting airplay.  May I say that is what this is all about.  Being in a chart is awesome, but getting the word out through your music, is wonderful.
Singers....Keep up the good work.

Grace Broadcasting Radio Review

Well folks as I have listened to the new rdio comp from JMA, I am without a doubt convinced that this is by far the best comp Ms. Barbara and the folks at Jubilee Music Artists have put out. Starting out with "Stillwater" Something to Shout About, we have in light to medium rotation.

Terry Blackwood, a voice from the past, but sounding better than ever, medium to heavy rotation on He Loves Me So!

The Lefevres, a remake of an old standard. The guys did a fantastic job, Medium to Heavy Rotation.

Mark Dubbeld..Barbara, where did you find this bunch? They are great..Medium to Heavy Rotation for "Living Oasis."

Ivan and Jamie, "Me and My Old King James," ..a song with a different sound, it is in medium to heavy rotation.

Harvest Gold "Making A New Start."  I understand they are brand new..another remake and sounds so much like the original artists!  Light to Medium.

Chris Baldwin..this guy has a good strong voice..his song "When He Says Arise" is in light to medium.

The Unity Four, another remake but done well.  "First Day In Heaven." Good job guys..light to medium play.

Keep up the good work and we at Grace Broadcasting look forward to what you have coming next.

Blessings,
L.H.

"Grace Period"

"And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.  For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ." (John 1:16-17)

All of us usually receive some sort of statements each month telling us when our bill is due.  Included in that statement there is usually a grace period before we are charged a late fee.  I always try to get that payment in before the due date to avoid paying late charges, and make sure this does not effect my credit.

According to the above scripture, we have all received grace.  It talks about grace for grace.  I have lived through seasons of grace in my life, and that is the title of my book to be released by the end of March, God has always taken care of me.  His love, mercy, and grace is what keeps me going.  Only in Jesus can we know this kind of grace.

I believe we are living in the last days.  Every day we are on this earth is a day of God's grace for our lives.  As it says in 1 Peter 5:12 this is the true grace of God in which you stand.

(2 Peter 3:10) "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up."  Today is the day to accept the salvation provided through this marvelous grace! Not tomorrow or next week.  TODAY is the day of grace.

At JMA we want to share this marvelous, wonderful grace of Jesus through every aspect of our ministry of   promotions in southern gospel music. We ask for prayers that we can do the very best to help deliver this message and help artists to get their music played on radio and internet.

With the music we release, we pray for God's direction and His grace to be granted in all of our work.  CDs are prayed over before they are mailed out and prayer is an important part of the day's work.

We encourage all artists, and friends to write to us and help us to get the message out and share God's grace. Lets get ready for the Lord's return.  Let's get the message out through our music ministry! Grace for Grace! Sounds like a good song title, doesn't it?
Be Blessed,
Barbara Roach

Terry Blackwood joins JMA for Vol. 8

Terry Blackwood is the son of Doyle Blackwood, original co-founder of the Blackwood Brothers Qt. Terry's distinctive vocal styling has been featured on many chart topping singles while associated with two highly acclaimed vocal groups, The Imperials and Andrus, Blackwood & Co. You may have seen him as a featured soloist on many Gaither Homecoming videos.

We are thrilled to be promoting Terry Blackwood on our new Vol. 8 radio composition. His song, "He Loves Me So" was first recorded by Terry in 1976 with the Imperials. Adding more contemporary and modern stylings to it, "He Loves me So" shows great potential in being a chart topping hit in the Southern Gospel genre.

"He Loves Me So" was written by Phil Johnson, writer of "Stone's Throw Away", "The Captain and Me", "The Day He Wore My Crown", "Give Them All", and many more!

Stop by www.terryblackwood.com to check out his bio, photos, products and more! And don't forget to call your local radio station and request the new radio release "He Loves Me So" by Terry Blackwood!

We've Got The Power

Today as we are awaiting things to happen in our lives, let us remember who we are and Whose we are in the name of Jesus!

As the song says:  We've got the power, in the name of Jesus
We've got the power in the name of the Lord
Though satan rages, we will not be defeated
We've got the power, in the name of the Lord!
                                                             -Laverne Tripp

At JMA our days are started with prayer, and prayers all through the day for each of our artists.  We are fighting daily battles in our personal lives, in our churches, in our music, BUT we know who wins!!

Psalm 37:4 happens to be one of my favorite verses for it tells us to "delight ourselves in the Lord and He will give us the desires of our heart."  Look it up!  Psalm 37 is a life line for my family!!!

If we desire to serve Him and our music is glorifying Him, the He will direct us where we are to go!
Praise His Name!

When we send out a radio compilation, we pray and ask God's guidance on this project and to touch lives through the music we represent.

To God Be the Glory!

September 14, 2010 - The day began early for the Mark Dubbeld Family.  Everyone dressed, ready to sing for Jesus? Let's go! Together with Promoter Barbara Roach and the other Jubilee Artists, they gathered for the "Jubilee Showcase" just across from Freedom Hall in the Crowne Plaza Hotel.  It was evident these artists gather with a goal in mind-for Christ to be glorified through their music.
When the Mark Dubbeld Family came to sing, they weren't even aware this showcase contained a competition.  Promoter Barbara Roach explained she wanted it that way.  She wanted the artists to gather together and "have church."
However, Jubilee Artist Promotions was also giving away two valued "radio releases."
The judges were poised and ready, carefully reviewing each entry.
After singing and praising together for over four hours, the time had come.  Who would go home with the valued prize?
The envelope was sealed and ready-and then came the moment.  Tearing it open, the words rang out, "Our group winner of this year's radio release is...The Mark Dubbeld Family!"  Little Britton Dubbeld's face said it all!  His mouth flew open, as both hands flew up to his face. "We won!" he exclaimed.
Thank you so much Jubilee for giving us this opportunity to share the music He has put on our hearts to a broader listening audience.  Together may we all continue to cover the earth with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Daily Jam

We have been listening to a lot of CDs today and talking to several artists.  There are some great talent in the regional area who never get heard on radio!  JMA would like to do something about that and push a little harder to see something happen for these artists.

We listened to Dan Hays of Flushing, MI today.   We were so impressed with his song "Beautiful In My Eyes." I was so touched, tears rolled down my face!  I believe that is the way God looks at us, His creation!  We are beautiful in His eyes, and He is beautiful in our eyes.  That song really ministered to me when I needed it the most.

We listened to a young lady from West Tennessee with an awesome voice.  Erica, I hope we get to work together in the near future.

I have know River City Quartet for several years now and they just keep getting better.  Greg is an anointed song writer and his son Seth has grown up in this.  Seth was about 14 when I met them.  He has a stronger voice now than ever.

I could go on and on about the music I have listened to this week.  But, we will post more as we go.

Becca is certainly a huge help to us in the ministry of JMA.

Have more CDs to listen to and we are looking for the right combination for Volume nine comp.  I can't believe we have been doing this for two years.  We have built good strong friendships with the radio folks and are thrilled about that.

Back to listening, talk to you later.

Daily Jam
We want to tell you that we have listened to several CDs presented to us at NQC.  We are very pleased with the latest project by Reflection Of Grace.  Jessie and Jeremiah wrote a very strong song and it really touched our hearts.
Yes, Jeremiah and Jessie, there is hope when you know Jesus as your personal Savior.  We are trying to decide what song would be the next radio release and would like for you all to pray with us for that.  I love to hear them sing “When they Ring the Bells of Heaven!”  But, we love to release their original songs.  I believe everyone in that group can write songs!!  They are blessed and we are blessed beyond measure to know such a Godly group of young people.
Still Water has a single release out on our new comp “Something To Shout About.”  Up Beat and brother we do have something to shout about!  Very good project guys! Still Water has been working with me for a couple of years!  Hey guys, we are in the charts at C.V. coming soon!!
Barbara Roach will still be making all of the radio calls and promotions, but Becca will be helping as usual in emails and trying to keep the news flowing.
Preston Mintz with Reflection of Grace is our new PR man and he is on top of things for the website.  Thank God for people who are willing to help us out!
We are so very proud that two of our artists did so well at NQC.  The Caltons were asked to stay and sing in the big showcase on Saturday.  This was great news.  Mark Dubbeld Family won a national radio release.
Every artist we represent has talent and everything lies in God’s hands.  We just do what we do best and that is promote.  God has it all in control.
We will be writing about more artists as the days come.
God  Bless!

NQC 2010

JMA is so happy to report another wonderful, successful year at the National Quartet Convention!

We arrived late Sunday night and set up our booth in the exhibitors hall, and prepared for the week.

Barbara & Becca sang in the NQC Regional Showcase on Monday morning, then hurried off to prepare for the JMA Annual Showcase at the Crown Plaza Hotel Whitley Room.

The Caltons, winners of JMA's 2009 Showcase, opened up the showcase Tuesday morning with their newest radio release, "Canaan Land is Just in Sight". We are very excited for them and their success.

Our showcase lasted late into the afternoon with many artists performing beautiful music.
Tommy Fairchild and his new quartet, Southern Tradition, sang as guest entertainers and really moved the crowds. Willie Wynn also sang with a few other JMA artists.

Our showcase was so well attended, the hotel had to open an addition room for us; which they did graciously free of charge.

Each year, JMA gives away a National Radio release for winning group and soloist.
This year, the winning group was the Mark Dubbeld Family of VA. His latest radio release on JMA's new Radio comp, "Living Oasis" is absolutely amazing!

Winning the soloist radio release was Joan Gregory of West TN. Joan will be releasing one of Barbara's original songs for her radio release in January.

We are so thankful for all this year's participants! We have some wonderful artists with JMA and we thank God for each of them daily.

We made several new connections at NQC this year, and already look forward to NQC 2011!
Go ahead and contact us to save your spot in the JMA 2011 Showcase at NQC! Next year is going to be even better.

I hope everyone enjoyed this week as much as we did.

Love and thanks in Christ Jesus,
Becca Roach, JMA
